1. Product Overview
P0400GH is a dedicated DIN rail mounted fieldbus power hub module for Foxboro I/A Series DCS, designed exclusively to power and segment Foundation Fieldbus H1 and PROFIBUS PA intrinsically safe process field instruments. Unlike standard rack-mounted FBM I/O cards, it is a cabinet-side power distribution unit for fieldbus trunk cables, separating four independent bus segments with full electrical isolation to prevent cross-segment noise and fault propagation.
It accepts standard industrial 24VDC rack input power and converts it into four isolated, current-limited fieldbus power outputs. Each segment can drive multiple FF H1 / PA transmitters, flow meters, pressure transmitters and HART-compatible valve positioners. Independent short-circuit cut-off and overcurrent fusing per branch ensures a fault on one bus segment does not collapse power or communication for the other three segments, drastically improving overall fieldbus network stability.
Integrated multi-layer diagnostic circuitry continuously monitors overload, cable break, bus short-circuit and missing termination resistor faults; each segment has dedicated front panel LED visual alarms for fast on-site troubleshooting without handheld test tools. The module supports 1:1 redundant pairing: two P0400GH units feed the same fieldbus trunk simultaneously, with seamless millisecond-level power transfer if the primary hub fails, eliminating single-point power failure risk for critical reactor, distillation and compressor fieldbus loops.
Internal LC EMI filter circuits suppress high-frequency switching noise from variable frequency drives and cabinet power supplies, maintaining clean DC power and stable digital bus communication signals. The PCB is coated with industrial anti-salt/humidity conformal coating, certified for ISA S71.04 Class G3 harsh industrial environments including offshore oil & gas Zone2 hazardous control rooms.
FOXBORO has discontinued original manufacturing of P0400GH; it is only supplied as surplus new or fully tested refurbished spare parts for maintenance and renovation of legacy I/A Series DCS systems in power, petrochemical and chemical plants.
